Seattle, WA May 8, 2008 – Emeritus Senior Living was bestowed the Assisted Living Federation of America's honorable "Best of the Best" award for an innovative employee commitment program called Employee Commitment Conversations. ALFA recognized the company's practice of having senior managers visit communities to meet with staff in an open forum to hear first hand about issues affecting them and suggestions for enhancing employee and customer satisfaction.
Emeritus has committed to this program with a goal of at least one visit by a senior manager to every community every year. The community believes that by improving communication, helping community staff overcome obstacles, and recognizing excellence within the team culture, it will enhance employee satisfaction, which in turn enhances customer satisfaction. This practice helps to assure grounded decision making as part of the overall strategic plan for the company.
The company is also proud to announce that Shaun Lynch, Executive Director at Summerville at Farm Pond, an Emeritus Senior Living community in Framingham, MA is awarded ALFA's distinguished 2008 "Hero" award. Out of 300 nominees, Mr. Lynch was chosen as one of five "Hero" award winners to recognize his outstanding dedication, extraordinary courage and undeniable leadership in providing excellent care to seniors.
